Wayne White

Executive Vice President, North Central Region

Wayne White is the executive vice president of the American Cancer Society North Central Region, which serves communities in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

As Executive Vice President, Wayne is the Region’s senior-most staff executive, driving the development and implementation of the Society’s mission and revenue strategies across seven states. He engages corporate and medical leaders, high-level donors, and leadership volunteers in furthering the fight against cancer. Under his leadership, the Region serves thousands of cancer patients and caregivers, engages volunteers to support community-based programs, inspires and equips companies to provide healthy workplaces, and raises more than $80 million annually to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Wayne joined the organization in 2017 and brings more than 25 years of sales, marketing, and management experience to the American Cancer Society. Over the course of his career, Wayne has led various teams with prominent companies such as Alcatel, Motorola, Kobo, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and General Electric. Wayne has lived in four of the seven states in the North Central Region (Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois).

Wayne holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in Marketing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.  He has served on the board of Gleaner’s Food Bank, HAVEN, and the National Kidney Foundation of SE Michigan. He has also served as a big brother in the Big Brother/Big Sister program of Chicago and as a Junior Achievement Mentor. A past recipient of Crain’s Detroit 40 Under 40 Award, Wayne resides in the great city of Chicago.
